If you live in Fenham or nearby west end ish, there is now a small but quality Transition group there too.
They are currently exploring what green activities to undertake in this local area.
Contact Jane cooper       plane.jane@hotmail.co.uk
Next meeting will be on Tuesday 28th April  at 7.00pm
at 151 Sidney Grove, Fenham.
Local meals of local food.  Some transition members in Gosforth are putting on a meal with all local ingredients for 10 local people.  Is anyone else in other areas up to this challenge ?  It is a lovely way of raising the issue of food miles, and the importance of  supporting local / organic farming.
Fundraising stall.  There will be a stall raising funds for Transition Newcastle or some part of it, at the Star and Shadow Market on Sunday 3rd  May. Open 11-4.00 (Top of Stepney bank, Ouseburn).
if you want to seek bargains be there.  It will include a good range of items.
The Next Transition Food Group Meeting will be on Saturday 9th May  at 1.30 pm at The Star and Shadow Cinema, Top of Stepney bank, Ouseburn.
Seedling swap. Those Fenham people are at it again,  by throwing open a swap of seedlings, any sort, at Moorside allotments, Fenham Hall Drive, Fenham, on Sunday 17th May  11- 2.00pm.
Their seed swap was a great event with music and food available and various things to purchase as well as a seed guessing activity and a raffle.   So get sowing now and keep a few seedlings aside for the event.
There are various other things going on with plans for a community garden in Heaton and a community orchard in Jesmond.
We are also able to offer a 30 minute talk (with or without powerpoint) with time for questions .  This is suitable for most groups but not designed for small children.  If you belong to any other groups, why not arrange for us to talk to them.  Just get them to e mail the address on this e mail and request a time.
All the Best
