Events from 9th May

Hi Transition Newcastle Supporters,

A number of forthcoming events and ideas.
1 Fleamarket. Thanks to all who contributed items, and those putting in  the time. Thanks to Gil’s organising to get it all happening. We raised £145 to share between the Transition Food Group  and Jesmond Community Orchard.
NOTE  We have about 160 books left and various other kitchen, jewellery and assorted items.
There is some very nice stuff, that will sell if more people see it.
If anyone else wants to fundraise for any transition project, Via a jumble sale, a stall at en event,
or even a car boot sale,  we will gladly pass the items on to you.
There is still enough to fill a couple of tressle tables and probably raise as much money again.
Please thinks about it and get in touch soon, as we won’t keep it past about a month otherwise.
2   Transition Food group meeting. Star and Shadow Cinema (Top of Stepney bank, Ouseburn) on Saturday 9th of May 2009 at 1330.  Which is just 1 hour after the Iris Brickfield meeting, with time for lunch at the Cluny in Between, (Down the hill from the Star and Shadow).

3   THE AGE OF STUPID film  for those who haven’t caught it yet  : Sunday 10th May at 3pm, followed by a discussion led by Shirley Ford, the Green party  lead candidate for Europarliament.
4    The local food meal organised by Transition Supporters in The Chronicle on 5.5.09.
Well done Frances, Jill, Lynne and Lynne from the Post Office.
It should appear on the Evening Chronicle web site under Go Green items in a few days time.

5 Hi Seed Savers,
The next event organised by the group is happening on Sunday 17th May, 11am-2pm at Moorside Allotments on Fenham Hall Drive – a chance to bring along any spare seedlings you have & swap them with other seedlings that might take your fancy! Don’t worry if you don’t have any spare seedlings – you can just make a small donation if you take seedlings away.
Please feel free to get involved with the organisation of the event- we need raffle/tombola prizes and there’s plenty of space on the tables for any homebaking that you might like to make? Also if anyone would like a stall for any art/produce/information please let me know.
Is anyone out there any good at face painting? Or would anyone like to sit on a gardeners question time panel & share their expert knowledge for 1/2 hr or so? Please get in touch if so!
Hope to see you on the day,
Cheers Emma

All the Best.
